Behaviour is an expression of feelings and needs. People and especially children with Autism will communicate by behaving in a certain way. Carer for persons with complex behaviours require special training and a degree of patience . Some behaviour will be a response to external stimuli. Impaired brain functionality can create uncoordinated and uncontrolled behaviour patterns such as aggression, self-harm, destructiveness, impulsiveness all of which can put the persons, immediate relatives or others at continuous risk.

Elgon Care uses a model that promotes positive behaviour support to users with complex behaviour. Research shows that there is benefit and positive outcome in positive behaviour management strategies. Elgon Care adopts a holistic approach in care planning and needs assessment. Our service is available to all people with complex needs. The company registered manager is a mental Health nurse with special interest in complex needs care.

Staff supporting complex behaviour needs receive robust training to support our behaviour management programme and implement the care plans. The system of management collects and records data for continuous improvement of our service.
